Test Before You Supplement

and

 Personalize Your Vitamins

Welcome to the future

You have taken the first step to improve your odds for better health and longevity through natural testing to determine customized supplementation. By urine testing in three major areas we can tailor your supplement formula to fit your own personal metabolism. It's the intelligent approach that allows your body to take the best advantage of the vitamins, minerals, herbs, enzymes, phyto-nutrients and more in your PrivaTest customized supplement.

Why do I need testing before I supplement if I eat well and feel okay?

Eating correctly should be your #1 priority. The reality of today's lifestyles with highly processed, fast food has made it difficult for anyone to eat a healthy diet everyday. Even if you eat the "right foods" your body has to process (digest, absorb and metabolize) the foods into usable chemicals for you to function effectively. Each of us is unique metabolically and biochemically. As a result nutritional needs can vary significantly from one individual to another. Thus you don't know if you are getting optimal nutrition until you get tested.

What exactly are you testing for and why?

The urinalysis provides information about the physiological function of the body because we are evaluating the end points of metabolism. In addition, the urine test is an overnight collection which gives a picture of your body's function over time rather than just a point in time. Urinalysis assesses three areas:

  • Lipid peroxides - to evaluate anti-oxidant protection against oxidant stress;

  • Sulfates - to evaluate detoxification ability;

  • Nitrates - to evaluate Nitric Oxide levels, which are directly related to immune system response and the regulation of many other systems in the body.

Can I do the test myself in my own home?

Yes the instructions in your PrivaTest kit are clear and complete. If you wish, you can bring the urine sample to the doctor/practitioner's office and as a courtesy, they will be glad to send it to the lab for you.

How does this urinalysis compare to a blood nutrition test?

There are several different blood tests for nutrition, which are all quite extensive. Most blood tests measure the level of certain nutrients in the blood (e.g. Vitamin E, Vitamin C, etc.) While this is useful to identify levels of those nutrients, it does not provide information about the utilization of the nutrient. The urinalysis in PrivaTest studies the by-products of cellular function of many systems in the body. This tells scientists how well the body's various systems are using the nutrients available to them.

What about hair analysis? Isn't that easier?

Hair analysis can be very useful and accurate in detecting the presence of heavy metals and certain minerals in your body. It can also effective in detecting drug metabolites. But this information is rather limited in it's usefulness in establishing broad-based personal nutritional supplementation needs.

What if I have a disease or condition? How will this affect the test?

The test is designed to look at oxidative stress, liver detoxification, and your immune function status. If your disease or condition is effecting these areas it will be apparent in our test results. The levels of carious nutrients will be adjusted accordingly in your formulation to assist your body's natural systems. However the PrivaTest urinalysis is not a diagnostic test and does not detect and is not intended to detect the presence of disease.

How are supplements put together after the test?

  • Each person's formulation is based upon their needs as determined by age, sex, lifestyle habits, and laboratory testing along with other information from the questionnaire.

  • In addition to exceptional comprehensive nutrition, customized supplements provides enhanced personalized coverage based on your status in three major areas of nutritional concern:

      -oxidative stress (antioxidant protection),

      -detoxification (toxin clearing capability of the body),

     -inflammatory/immune system response.

Is any of this information used for anything else?

The urine specimen is analyzed for the three substances only. The test is not designed to be diagnostic or to treat any health condition. All information and test results are private and will be held in strict confidence. The laboratory tracks only your order number. The manufacturer tracks only your formulation and does not have access to your lab results, questionnaire, data, etc.

Will consumption of alcohol, medications, etc, be detected or affect the test results?

The general rule of thumb is that you should be as near normal in your routine as is reasonable. For example, if you had an abnormal amount of beverages to drink that evening, put the test off for a day. If you have medications which you routinely take under a physician's orders, you should continue that regimen uninterrupted. The test does not look at the presence of drugs or alcohol. If you have questions consult your physician/practitioner.

Now that I have customized supplements what should I do?

Select your diet carefully from fresh whole foods. Choose those that are as pesticide and as additive-free as possible to reduce the demands on your antioxidant and detoxification systems. Supplementation is necessary to achieve research recommended amounts of certain nutrients and your customized supplements will definitely supply nutritional support for specific vital metabolic pathways. A good daily diet and your customized supplements area perfect complement to each other and together form a powerful partnership.

Nine months from your first test we will notify you of your suggested re-test date. Continuing scientific research may reveal new information regarding your health an nutrition. Remember your metabolism is a dynamic system. A one shot lock is not enough to establish needs for a lifetime.
